Responsible for maintaining high sanitation, cleanliness, and organization standards in a kitchen, including cleaning utensils, operating dishwashers, managing waste, and supporting chefs. They ensure all kitchen areas, floors, and equipment are clean to meet health regulations and support efficient food preparation.
Responsibilities:
- Sanitation & Cleaning: Washing dishes, cutlery, pots, and pans; sanitizing work surfaces, walls, and floors.
- Waste Management: Proper disposal of garbage, recycling, and food waste, ensuring the area is tidy.
- Equipment Maintenance: Operating and maintaining dishwasher machinery; storing all pots, pans, and kitchen tools in their correct locations.
- Kitchen Support: Assisting culinary teams with basic tasks and ensuring cleaning supply inventories are stocked.
- Safety Compliance: Adhering strictly to sanitation regulations and reporting any maintenance hazards, such as broken equipment, to supervisors.
Typical Requirements:
- Physical stamina to work long hours on feet and lift heavy items.
- Ability to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety standards.
