About the Role
We are looking for a highly motivated Product Development Intern with a background in Polymer Chemistry to support the development and optimisation of next-generation sustainable materials. The intern will work closely with the founding team on formulation development, material characterisation, process optimisation, and prototype development, contributing directly to our R&D; efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the formulation and development of biodegradable polymer-based materials.
- Conduct laboratory experiments related to polymer synthesis, blending, compounding, and crosslinking.
- Prepare, optimize, and document material formulations and experimental procedures.
- Perform physical, mechanical, and chemical characterization of developed materials.
- Analyse experimental data and prepare technical reports with observations and recommendations.
- Support process optimization for prototype manufacturing and scale-up.
- Conduct literature reviews, patent searches, and competitive technology analysis.
- Maintain laboratory records, inventory, and ensure adherence to laboratory safety practices.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to translate research into commercially viable products.
Eligibility
- Pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Polymer Chemistry, Polymer Science, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of polymer chemistry, polymer processing, and material characterization.
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment is preferred.
- Ability to independently plan and execute experiments.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Passion for sustainable materials and product innovation.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of polymer formulation and compounding.
- Experience with elastomers, latex systems, biopolymers, or composite materials is an advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and technical documentation.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment.
