We are looking for a Lead Engineer to drive technical design and delivery across our engineering portfolio.
- Contribute to design and delivery across applications.
- Drive API design and contracts (REST, event schemas) across a growing microservices landscape
- Mentor and technically guide a team of engineers; conduct design/code reviews
- Partner with product managers and business analysts to translate requirements into scalable technical designs
- Evaluate and integrate open-source components in line with build vs. buy and "justified access-pattern" principles
- Support scalability and maintainability of existing applications while contributing to new capabilities
- Own non-functional requirements: scalability, resilience, observability, and security
- Languages/Frameworks: Java, Spring Boot, strong OOP and design pattern fundamentals
- Architecture: Microservices architecture, System Design (HLD & LLD), Domain-Driven Design
- Data Structures & Algorithms: Strong problem-solving and complexity analysis skills
- Databases: SQL (PostgreSQL preferred) and NoSQL; schema design, indexing, JSONB modelling for flexible/semi-structured data
- Messaging/Streaming: Apache Kafka (producer/consumer patterns, event-driven architecture, schema evolution)
- APIs: REST API design, versioning, contract-first development (OpenAPI/Swagger)
- Caching: Experience with in-memory data stores (ex- Redis/Valkey)
- Cloud & DevOps: Containerization (Docker, Podman etc), Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines
- Observability: Logging/monitoring stacks (e.g., Grafana, Loki, Prometheus)
- Telecom domain exposure: BSS/OSS, TM Forum eTOM/ODA
- Familiarity with AI/agentic system patterns and integrating LLM-based agents into deterministic orchestration flows
- Experience evaluating and productising internal platforms into multi-tenant SaaS offerings
- Understanding of API gateway, service mesh, and event schema governance at scale
- Proven experience leading technical design discussions and driving architectural decisions to closure
- Ability to communicate complex technical trade-offs to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders (PMs, BAs)
- Pragmatic approach to technology adoption — avoids over-engineering, evaluates build vs. buy critically
- Ownership mindset: comfortable being the primary technical decision-maker on a strategic platform
- Prior experience in telecom/BSS-OSS product companies or operators
- Contributions to open-source workflow, orchestration, or data platform projects
- Certifications in cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) or Kubernetes (CKA)
