A Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the housekeeping department. They ensure cleanliness, orderliness, and appearance standards are maintained in rooms and public areas, while managing housekeeping staff efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the work of housekeeping staff
- Inspect rooms, hallways, and public areas to ensure cleanliness standards are met
- Assign daily duties and schedules to housekeeping team members
- Train new employees on cleaning procedures and safety standards
- Ensure proper use of cleaning equipment and chemicals
- Report maintenance issues (e.g., plumbing, electrical) to the maintenance department
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and linens
- Handle guest requests and complaints related to housekeeping
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Monitor staff performance and provide feedback
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Degree, diploma or equivalent (hospitality certification is a plus)
- Proven experience in housekeeping, preferably in hotels or resorts
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively
- Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment
