Qualification: Bachelor's Degree in Marine Engineering (Mandatory)
Preference: Sailing experience as a Chief Engineer on Offshore Support Vessels (OSV/PSV/AHTS/Tug) or equivalent shore-based technical management experience.

- Minimum 3-4 years of experience in an offshore/shipping company as a Technical Superintendent or sailing experience as a Chief Engineer on offshore vessels.
- Strong knowledge of ISM Code, ISPS Code, MLC, SOLAS, MARPOL, Class & Statutory requirements, and DG Shipping regulations.
- Experience in vessel maintenance, dry dockings, planned maintenance, technical procurement, and Class surveys.
- Good knowledge of offshore vessel machinery, budgeting, vendor management, and technical documentation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) with strong communication and leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day technical operations and maintenance of assigned offshore vessels.
- Ensure vessels remain technically compliant, operational, and ready for charter at all times.
- Plan, monitor, and supervise vessel repairs, dry dockings, major overhauls, refits, and special surveys.
- Coordinate with shipyards during dry dockings and major repair projects to ensure timely completion within approved budgets.
- Monitor and administer the Planned Maintenance System (PMS) to ensure timely maintenance of machinery and equipment.
- Ensure all Class, Statutory, Flag State, and regulatory surveys and certifications are completed before expiry. Liaise with Classification Societies, Flag Administration, DG Shipping, Port Authorities, and other regulatory bodies.
- Ensure compliance with the ISM Code, ISPS Code, MLC, MARPOL, SOLAS, ISO standards, and Company Safety Management System (SMS).
- Conduct internal ISM audits, vessel inspections, technical audits, and follow-up on corrective actions.
- Review and approve technical purchase requisitions, quotations, repair invoices, and vendor bills before certification.
- Coordinate with the Purchase Department for timely procurement of spare parts, stores, lubricants, chemicals, paints, and technical equipment.
- Monitor vessel spare inventories and ensure adequate critical spare availability onboard.
- Review machinery performance reports and identify opportunities to improve vessel reliability and operational efficiency.
- Monitor fuel oil, lubricating oil, and machinery condition reports, including oil analysis, and recommend corrective actions.
- Conduct regular onboard inspections to assess machinery condition, maintenance standards, housekeeping, and regulatory compliance.
- Investigate machinery failures, equipment breakdowns, and technical incidents, and implement preventive measures.
- Ensure minimum vessel downtime through effective maintenance planning and timely technical support.
- Provide technical guidance and support to Masters, Chief Engineers, and vessel crews.
- Coordinate vessel mobilizations, demobilizations, acquisitions, flag changes, class transfers, and vessel handovers.
- Assist in the recruitment, technical evaluation, and selection of Chief Engineers and Engine Department personnel.
- Identify training requirements for onboard technical personnel and recommend competency development programs.
- Assist in preparing H&M insurance claims, damage reports, repair estimates, and supporting technical documentation.
- Prepare monthly technical reports, vessel performance reports, repair status reports, and client reports as required.
- Maintain complete technical records, vessel documentation, machinery history, and maintenance files.
- Coordinate emergency repairs and provide technical assistance during vessel breakdowns and operational emergencies.
- Liaise with OEMs, service engineers, contractors, and vendors for technical support and specialized repairs.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Technical Manager or Management.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of marine diesel engines, propulsion systems, auxiliary machinery, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, and deck machinery.
- Thorough understanding of offshore vessel operations and maintenance.
- Excellent knowledge of PMS, dry docking, Class requirements, and statutory regulations.
- Good understanding of ISM Code, ISPS Code, MLC, SOLAS, MARPOL, and DG Shipping requirements.
- Experience in preparing technical budgets and controlling maintenance costs.
- Knowledge of technical procurement, spare parts management, and vendor coordination.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to coordinate multiple vessels and prioritize urgent technical requirements.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Pay: Up to ₹175,000.00 per month
