QUALITY ASSURANCE TEST ENGINEERd3VIEW — Engineering Simulation Data & Workflow Platform===============================================================================THE ROLE--------------------------------------------------------------------------------We are looking for a Quality Assurance Test Engineer to own the quality of thed3VIEW platform end to end. You will design and execute tests across every layer —from the browser UI and REST APIs to the server-side workers, the workflow engine,HPC job submission, and the numerical/CAE features that sit at the platform's core.You will be the engineer who catches the regression before the customer does, andwho can tell the difference between a UI glitch and a wrong physics answer.This role suits someone who enjoys both the discipline of structured testing and thecuriosity of a domain that mixes web software with finite-element engineering.WHAT YOU WILL DO-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Design, write and maintain test plans, test cases and checklists for new and existing features across the platform. - Perform functional, regression, integration, cross-browser and exploratory testing of the web application (Backbone/JS plugins), REST APIs, and the server-side PHP workers and transformations. - Verify end-to-end workflows: build/import a workflow, run it (locally and on HPC), and confirm each node's inputs, outputs and status are correct. - Validate CAE and numerical features against known-good references — material calibrations (e.g. *MAT_213 composite cards), mesh operations (coarsening, sub-model creation), contact/penetration checks, response extraction templates, and reporting — comparing results to solver output or hand-verified baselines. - Test HPC server configuration and job submission across schedulers (Slurm, PBS/ Torque) and hosts (on-prem clusters and cloud), including discovery, submission, and result retrieval. - Reproduce, isolate and clearly document defects in JIRA with exact repro steps, expected vs. actual results, environment details and supporting artifacts; verify fixes and drive them to closure. - Build and grow automated tests (API/worker smoke tests, data-driven checks, scripted regression) to catch breakage early and shorten release cycles. - Own release verification: run the regression suite before each deployment, sign off on builds, and confirm behavior on the deployed environment. - Partner with engineers and product to clarify expected behavior, review specs and designs for testability, and represent the voice of quality and the customer. - Maintain test data, fixtures and reference models, and keep the test documentation current.WHAT YOU BRING-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - 3+ years in software QA / test engineering, ideally for technical or engineering software (CAE, CAD, simulation, scientific, or data-heavy applications). - A rigorous, detail-oriented mindset: you design tests that find real problems, not just tests that pass. - Strong ability to write clear, reproducible bug reports and test cases. - Hands-on scripting for test automation and data validation (Python preferred; familiarity with REST APIs, JSON, and the command line). - Comfort working across the stack — web UI, APIs, back-end services, files and data formats — and reasoning about where a defect actually lives. - Experience with issue trackers (JIRA) and version control (Git). - Excellent written and verbal communication; able to collaborate with engineers and explain quality risks to non-QA stakeholders.STRONGLY PREFERRED (a big plus)-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Working knowledge of finite-element analysis and crashworthiness / structural simulation, and familiarity with LS-DYNA keyword decks (*NODE, *ELEMENT, *SECTION, *MAT, *CONTACT, etc.). - Exposure to HPC job scheduling (Slurm / PBS / Torque) and Linux environments. - Understanding of material models and calibration, mesh quality, or contact mechanics — enough to judge whether a numerical result is physically sensible. - Experience testing workflow/pipeline engines or optimization / ML-driven tools. - Familiarity with pre-processors such as ANSA or PRIMER, and post-processors / plotting tools.WHY d3VIEW-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Work on software that engineers rely on for real safety and performance decisions — your testing directly protects product integrity. - A rare intersection of modern web software and hard engineering; you will grow both your QA craft and your simulation domain knowledge. - Small, high-impact team where quality has a seat at the table and your voice shapes what ships. - Collaborative, learning-oriented culture with direct access to the engineers who build the platform.
