SDET 2 / QA Automation Engineer
Location: On-site (Bangalore) | Experience: 3-5 Years | Domain: B2B SaaS / Fintech
The Role
As an SDET 2 / QA Automation Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our B2B SaaS platform. This is a hands-on automation role for someone with strong expertise in TypeScript and Playwright, a passion for quality engineering, and the ability to work closely with developers, product teams, and senior SDETs.
You will be responsible for developing and maintaining automation frameworks, validating business-critical workflows, identifying quality risks early in the SDLC, and contributing to continuous improvement of testing practices.
Key Responsibilities
Automation Development
Develop, execute, and maintain UI and API automation test suites using TypeScript and Playwright.
Create reusable automation components and improve existing test frameworks.
Ensure adequate functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end test coverage.
API & Database Testing
Perform REST API testing and validation.
Validate backend data and business transactions using SQL queries.
Verify data integrity across application layers.
Quality Assurance
Analyze business requirements and create comprehensive test scenarios and test cases.
Identify, document, track, and verify software defects.
Participate in requirement reviews and provide quality-focused feedback.
CI/CD & DevOps
Execute automated tests within CI/CD pipelines.
Support integration of automated test suites into GitHub Actions or GitLab CI workflows.
Work with development teams to ensure quality gates are maintained.
Business Workflow Validation
Test complex SaaS workflows including user management, role-based access control (RBAC), tenant-specific functionality, and business logic validations.
Validate application behavior across various user roles and environments.
Collaboration
Work closely with developers, product managers, and senior SDETs to ensure product quality.
Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes and automation practices.
Requirements
Core Skills
3-5 years of experience in Software Testing, QA Automation, or SDET roles.
Strong hands-on experience with Playwright and TypeScript.
Experience in designing and maintaining automation test scripts.
Good understanding of test automation frameworks and best practices.
API & Data Testing
Hands-on experience in REST API testing.
Strong SQL skills for database validation and troubleshooting.
Experience validating backend processes and data accuracy.
DevOps & Tools
Experience with:
Git
GitHub Actions or GitLab CI
CI/CD practices
Docker (basic understanding)
Testing Fundamentals
Strong understanding of:
SDLC
STLC
Agile methodologies
Defect lifecycle
Test design techniques

Experience in B2B SaaS products.
Exposure to Fintech, Lending, or Payments platforms.
Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter or k6.
Understanding of multi-tenant application architecture.
Basic knowledge of security testing concepts.
ISTQB or related QA certifications.

Pay: ₹900,000.00 - ₹1,200,000.00 per year
