Planning Intern

General Purpose
Supports the Planner / Operations Manager in production scheduling, material tracking, and shortage resolution for gear hobbing machines and subassemblies strengthening 5S discipline and on-time dispatch through daily, data-driven follow-up.
Main / Essential Task
- Assist in developing the weekly/monthly Master Production Schedule (MPS) and rolling 1–4 week shop-floor schedule
- Track material availability and flag shortage risk before workshop release
- Maintain a live shortage register (part number, subassembly, required date, supplier status, owner)
- Coordinate with Purchase, Stores, Machine Shop, QA and Production to resolve material issues and confirm delivery commitments
- Support tracking of planning KPIs on time scheduling, shortage reduction, dispatch reliability
- Assist in implementing lean planning practices Kanban, VMI, safety stock norms
- Report daily/weekly assembly plans (Plan vs. Actuals) and shortage impact to the Operations Manager
Skills Required
- MS Excel proficiency; exposure to ERP/MRP systems (SAP preferred) - Optional
- Analytical and detail-oriented, comfortable coordinating across departments
- Willingness to work on the shop floor with production and assembly teams
Position Details
- Role: Planning Intern
- Qualification: B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering
- Duration: 6 months (with potential for full-time conversion based on performance)
- Stipend: ₹15,000 / month
- Location: Dabaspete
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹15,500.00 per month
