Role Overview
The EHS Expert will support CorpSustain Ventures on ESG and Environmental & Social (E&S) consulting assignments, including ESIA, ESDD, EHS assessments and site-based studies. The role requires hands-on field experience, strong knowledge of Indian EHS requirements, excellent technical reporting and effective client communication.
Key Responsibilities
· Support and conduct ESIA and ESDD assignments from an EHS perspective.
· Conduct site visits, facility inspections, interviews and field assessments as required.
· Assess EHS risks, compliance gaps and management practices at project and operational sites.
· Review applicable Indian environmental, occupational health and safety, and other relevant EHS regulations.
· Assess projects against IFC Performance Standards and relevant World Bank Group EHS Guidelines.
· Review EHS management systems, permits, licences, records, procedures and supporting documentation.
· Identify EHS risks, non-compliances, potential impacts and improvement opportunities.
· Recommend mitigation measures and corrective actions.
· Prepare high-quality ESIA, ESDD, EHS assessment and technical reports with clear findings and recommendations.
· Prepare assessment checklists, risk registers, data tables and supporting documentation.
· Participate in client meetings, technical discussions and presentations/debriefs.
· Coordinate with internal multidisciplinary teams, clients and project stakeholders.
· Manage assigned deliverables independently and meet agreed timelines.
Required Qualifications & Experience
· 3–5 years of relevant professional experience in EHS consulting.
· Experience with ERM, AECOM, Deloitte, PwC or another relevant ESG/EHS consulting organisation is preferred.
· Hands-on experience conducting ESIA/ESDD site visits and contributing to technical reports.
· Strong understanding of Indian EHS regulations and practical compliance requirements.
· Working knowledge of IFC Performance Standards and relevant international E&S/EHS frameworks.
