Overview
The QC Assistant Manager is responsible for ensuring the quality of luggage, bags, riding apparel, gloves, rainwear, and related travel gear from incoming materials to final inspection. The role includes leading the QC team, implementing quality standards, reducing defects, handling customer complaints, and coordinating with production, design, purchase, and stores to maintain consistent product quality
Role & responsibilities
- Manage incoming, in-process, and final quality inspections for luggage and apparel products.
- Supervise and guide QC Executives and Inspectors.
- Ensure all products comply with customer specifications, technical packs, and quality standards.
- Conduct first-piece approvals before bulk production.
- Monitor stitching quality, seam strength, measurements, printing, embroidery, seam sealing, waterproofing, and product functionality.
- Inspect raw materials such as fabrics, webbing, zippers, buckles, EVA, foam, Velcro, lining, labels, and trims.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) for quality issues.
- Coordinate with Production, Design, Purchase, Stores, and Sampling teams to resolve quality concerns.
- Monitor rejection, rework, and repair trends and implement improvement actions.
- Handle customer complaints, warranty claims, and quality audits.
- Maintain QC reports, inspection records, AQL reports, and quality documentation.
- Train QC and production teams on quality standards, SOPs, and inspection procedures.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and improve customer satisfaction.
Preferred candidate profile
- - Diploma/B.E. in Mechanical, Textile, Production, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- - 5–8 years of experience in quality control for luggage, bags, apparel, or travel gear manufacturing.
- - Minimum 6-8 years of experience in a supervisory or assistant manager role.
