Job description:
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with prospective students (phone, email, in-person) to explain programmes, admissions process, course structure, fee structure, scholarships and support services.
- Provide counselling to students and parents, helping them choose the right course, understand eligibility, documentation, deadlines.
- Guide applicants through the entire admission journey: from first enquiry → campus visit/open house → application submission → acceptance → enrolment.
- Organise and conduct information sessions, open days, campus tours, workshops and outreach events.
- Maintain accurate records of all enquiries, follow-ups, applications, admissions, using CRM tools or internal systems.
- Meet monthly/quarterly targets for new student admissions, conversion rates, and enrolment numbers.
- Collaborate with marketing, academic departments, student services and finance teams for coordinated admissions efforts.
- Provide feedback and insights into applicant trends, competitor programmes, market demands and help the institution adapt promotional strategies.
- Ensure compliance with admission policies, data protection, deadlines, and regulatory requirements (AICTE, UGC, state/regional bodies as applicable).
- Support orientation and onboarding of newly admitted students (e.g., welcome communications, induction sessions, clarifying next steps).
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline; (preference for education, business administration, counselling or related).
- Proven experience (2–4 years) in admissions, student counselling, sales or customer-facing role (education sector preferred).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Kannada (or other local languages as needed).
- Strong interpersonal skills, active listening-ability, empathy, and ability to build trust with students and families.
- Results-oriented with ability to work to targets and deadlines. Good organisational and time-management skills; ability to handle multiple enquiries/applications simultaneously.
- Familiarity with CRM systems, MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to learn new software.
- Knowledge of the higher-education sector and local/regional admissions frameworks is a plus.
