Role Overview
ALR Child Development Center is looking for a compassionate and committed Child Psychologist to work with children with developmental, behavioural, emotional, learning, and social challenges. The psychologist will assess each child's needs, develop individualised intervention plans, conduct therapy sessions, guide parents, and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to support the child's overall development.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct psychological, behavioural, developmental, and cognitive assessments as required.
- Identify concerns related to behaviour, attention, emotional regulation, learning, social skills, and developmental delays.
- Develop Individualised Intervention Plans with clear and measurable goals.
- Conduct one-to-one therapy and intervention sessions with children.
- Apply evidence-based approaches appropriate to the child's age, needs, and developmental profile.
- Support children with concerns including Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, learning difficulties, behavioural challenges, emotional difficulties, and social-skills deficits.
- Work on areas such as emotional regulation, attention, behaviour management, social interaction, communication, independence, and coping skills.
- Track progress regularly and modify intervention goals based on the child's response.
- Maintain accurate session notes, assessment records, progress reports, and other clinical documentation.
- Provide regular updates to parents and explain the child's goals and progress in clear, practical language.
- Conduct parent counselling, orientation, and training to help parents implement appropriate strategies at home.
- Collaborate with speech therapists, occupational therapists, special educators, physiotherapists, and other professionals involved in the child's care.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and progress reviews.
- Coordinate with schools and teachers when required to support the child's learning, behaviour, and classroom participation.
- Maintain professional ethics, confidentiality, child safeguarding standards, and appropriate clinical boundaries.
- Participate in internal training, case presentations, workshops, and professional-development activities.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Psychology, preferably Clinical Psychology, Child Psychology, Counselling Psychology, Applied Psychology, or a related discipline.
- Relevant training or experience working with children is preferred.
- Freshers with strong academic foundations, willingness to learn, and genuine interest in child development may also be considered.
Skills & Competencies
The ideal candidate should have strong observation and communication skills, patience when working with children, an understanding of child development and behaviour, and the ability to build positive relationships with children and parents.
The candidate should be comfortable working as part of a multidisciplinary team, maintaining systematic documentation, receiving supervision and feedback, and following structured intervention plans.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
