Job Description – HR Manager
Industry: Fabrication / Manufacturing
Location: Siruganur, Trichy
Experience: 3–7 years in HR, preferably in a manufacturing/fabrication industry
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and responsible HR professional who can independently handle HR activities for a fabrication/manufacturing unit. The candidate should have strong experience in managing blue-collar workers, contract labour, technicians, and shop-floor employees and should be comfortable working in a factory environment.
Key Responsibilities1. Blue-Collar Workforce Management
- Manage and coordinate blue-collar employees including welders, fitters, fabricators, helpers, machine operators, painters, and other shop-floor workers.
- Handle day-to-day employee issues, grievances, discipline, absenteeism, and workforce-related matters.
- Maintain good communication and coordination between workers, supervisors, and management.
- Monitor attendance, late coming, leave, overtime, and shift schedules.
- Ensure adequate manpower availability based on production requirements.
- Coordinate recruitment and onboarding of skilled and unskilled workers.
2. Recruitment & Manpower Planning
- Recruit skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled workers as per factory requirements.
- Source candidates through ITIs, manpower agencies, local networks, colleges, and other recruitment channels.
- Coordinate interviews, selection, salary negotiation, joining formalities, and induction.
- Maintain manpower status and recruitment trackers.
- Plan manpower requirements in coordination with Production and Management.
3. Payroll & Statutory Compliance
- Coordinate monthly payroll processing, attendance, overtime, incentives, deductions, and salary-related matters.
- Handle PF, ESI, Professional Tax, TDS, Labour Welfare Fund, and other applicable statutory requirements.
- Maintain employee records and statutory registers.
- Coordinate with auditors, consultants, and government authorities whenever required.
- Ensure timely submission/payment of statutory contributions and returns.
4. Factory HR Administration
- Maintain employee files, attendance records, joining documents, ID cards, and other HR documentation.
- Manage employee welfare facilities such as canteen, drinking water, uniforms, PPE, transport, etc.
- Coordinate with Security regarding worker entry/exit and attendance.
- Handle contractor labour documentation and compliance.
- Support management in implementing company HR policies and procedures.
5. Employee Relations & Discipline
- Develop a positive working relationship with shop-floor employees.
- Address worker complaints and grievances professionally and promptly.
- Maintain discipline and ensure compliance with company rules.
- Conduct counselling and disciplinary discussions when required.
- Handle worker-related issues calmly and effectively, even in difficult situations.
6. Safety & Factory Coordination
- Coordinate with Production and Safety teams to ensure employees follow factory safety procedures.
- Ensure workers use required PPE such as safety shoes, helmets, gloves, goggles, etc.
- Support safety training, induction, toolbox meetings, and awareness programs.
- Assist in accident/incident documentation and follow-up.
7. HR Reporting
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly manpower reports.
- Track absenteeism, employee turnover, overtime, recruitment status, and workforce productivity.
- Provide regular HR updates to Management.
- Maintain accurate HR MIS and employee databases.
Required Skills & Qualities
- Strong experience in blue-collar workforce management.
- Good knowledge of HR practices in a manufacturing/fabrication environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with workers at all levels.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-management skills.
- Firm but approachable personality.
- Ability to handle discipline and worker grievances professionally.
- Good knowledge of labour laws and statutory compliance.
- Good communication skills in Tamil and English.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and basic HR software.
- Willingness to work in a factory/shop-floor environment.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate with Production, Admin, Finance, and Management.
Preferred Candidate
- Previous experience in fabrication, engineering, steel, manufacturing, or similar industries.
- Experience handling 50–200+ blue-collar employees.
- Experience with contract labor and manpower agencies.
- ITI/college recruitment experience will be an advantage.
- Immediate joiners / candidates with short notice period preferred.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹33,000.00 per month
