Job Summary
Axxelent Pharma Science Private Limited is seeking a highly skilled Senior Executive – Art Work Designer to support the Packaging Development function. The incumbent will be responsible for designing, reviewing, and maintaining artwork for pharmaceutical packaging materials in compliance with regulatory requirements, customer specifications, and internal quality standards. The role requires close collaboration with Regulatory Affairs, Packaging Development, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, and external printing vendors to ensure accurate, compliant, and print-ready artwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop artwork for pharmaceutical packaging components, including:
- Folding cartons
- Labels
- Blister foils
- Aluminum foils
- Inserts/Leaflets
- Flexible packaging
- Shippers and secondary packaging
- Prepare print-ready artwork files using approved templates and brand guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with applicable pharmaceutical regulations, customer requirements, and internal SOPs.
- Coordinate with Regulatory Affairs to implement labeling updates and artwork changes.
- Verify the accuracy of product information, dosage strength, batch coding areas, barcodes, serialization space, caution statements, and statutory declarations.
- Review and approve printer proofs and colour standards before commercial production.
- Maintain artwork revision history, document control, and version management.
- Coordinate with packaging material vendors and printing suppliers for artwork development and approval.
- Support new product development, technology transfer, and product lifecycle management by preparing artwork for commercial and export markets.
- Ensure timely completion of artwork projects while meeting project timelines.
- Participate in change control activities related to packaging artwork modifications.
- Support audit readiness by maintaining artwork records as per GMP and Data Integrity requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Packaging Development, Production, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, Procurement, and Marketing.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Fine Arts, Printing Technology, or a related discipline.
- Certification in Adobe Creative Suite will be an added advantage.
Experience
- 4–6 years of experience in pharmaceutical artwork design or pharmaceutical packaging development.
- Experience working in regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environments.
- Exposure to domestic and export pharmaceutical packaging artwork is preferred.
Required Skills

- Knowledge of pharmaceutical packaging materials and printing processes.
- Strong understanding of:
- GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
- Packaging artwork approval process
- Regulatory labeling requirements
- Print production and colour management
- Barcode generation and verification
- Packaging specifications and dielines
- Knowledge of serialization and track & trace requirements will be an added advantage.
- Excellent attention to detail and proofreading skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple artwork projects with strict timelines.
