Position Summary
The In-Process Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring product quality during manufacturing operations by monitoring machining processes, conducting in-process inspections, analyzing defects, and implementing corrective actions. The role focuses on maintaining precision standards for CNC machined and ground components while ensuring compliance with customer specifications and quality systems.
Key Responsibilities
In-Process Quality Control
- Perform in-process inspection of machined and ground components.
- Verify dimensions, tolerances, surface finish, and geometrical parameters as per drawings.
- Conduct first-piece approval and patrol inspection during production.
- Ensure process adherence on CNC turning, VMC, grinding, and machining operations.
- Monitor SPC parameters and process capability.
Inspection & Measurement
- Use precision measuring instruments such as:
- Vernier caliper
- Micrometer
- Bore gauge
- Height gauge
- Dial indicator
- Air gauge
- Surface roughness tester
- CMM (preferred)
Quality Documentation
- Maintain inspection reports and in-process quality records.
- Update control plans, check sheets, and inspection standards.
- Record rejection, rework, and defect analysis data.
- Support traceability and calibration records.
Problem Solving & Improvement
- Identify process deviations and quality issues.
- Participate in root cause analysis using:
- 7 QC tools
- Why-Why analysis
- Fishbone diagram
- CAPA
- Coordinate corrective and preventive actions with production teams.
- Work on rejection reduction and continuous improvement initiatives.
Customer & System Compliance
- Ensure compliance with customer drawings and specifications.
- Support implementation of:
- ISO 9001
- IATF 16949
- SPC
- PPAP
- APQP
- Assist during internal and external audits.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering or Production Engineering.
- 2–5 years of experience in quality engineering in precision machining or automotive manufacturing.
- Experience in CNC machining environment preferred.
Required Skills
- Good understanding of GD&T and engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of machining processes and tolerances.
- Hands-on experience with measuring instruments.
- Basic knowledge of SPC, CAPA, PPAP, and quality systems.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and reporting.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in automotive or precision component manufacturing.
- Exposure to grinding and micron-level tolerance inspection.
- Knowledge of CMM operation and reporting.

Pay: ₹17,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
