Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchase cum Store Officer to manage procurement activities, inventory control, and store operations. The ideal candidate will ensure timely purchasing of materials, maintain optimum inventory levels, and oversee the receipt, storage, and issuance of materials while ensuring accuracy and compliance with company procedures.
Key ResponsibilitiesPurchase
- Source and procure raw materials, consumables, packaging materials, and other items as per purchase requisitions.
- Obtain quotations, compare prices, negotiate with vendors, and finalize purchases.
- Prepare Purchase Orders (POs) and monitor timely deliveries.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
- Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, cost, and delivery timelines.
- Coordinate with production, planning, and accounts departments for procurement requirements.
- Ensure cost-effective purchasing without compromising quality.
Store Management
- Manage the receipt, storage, and issuance of materials.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in ERP/Tally/Excel.
- Monitor stock levels and initiate timely replenishment.
- Conduct periodic physical stock verification and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
- Maintain proper documentation for inward and outward material movements.
- Ensure proper storage, identification, and preservation of materials.
- Implement FIFO/FEFO practices wherever applicable.
- Maintain housekeeping and safety standards within the store.
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory and purchase reports.
- Maintain GRNs, purchase registers, stock registers, and vendor records.
- Coordinate with the Accounts department for invoice verification and payment processing.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and audit requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Diploma or Certification in Materials Management/Supply Chain will be an added advantage.
Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in Purchase and Store Management.
- Experience in the manufacturing industry is preferred.
Required Skills
