Job Description: IT Technician & Administrative Assistant
Job Summary:
We are looking for a versatile and responsible IT Technician & Administrative Assistant to support the smooth functioning of our IB school. The ideal candidate should have strong technical skills along with good administrative and communication abilities.
The candidate will be responsible for providing day-to-day IT support to staff and students while also assisting the administration team with school-related coordination, documentation, records, communication, and other administrative tasks.
The successful candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced school environment and able to manage both technical and administrative responsibilities efficiently.
Key Responsibilities1. IT Support & Technical Responsibilities
- Provide first-level technical support to teachers, staff, students, and school departments.
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot computers, laptops, printers, projectors, interactive panels, and other IT equipment.
- Support classroom technology, audio-visual equipment, and digital learning tools.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, Wi-Fi, email, and connectivity-related issues.
- Create and manage user accounts, passwords, access permissions, and basic system configurations.
- Maintain an updated inventory of computers, devices, accessories, and other IT assets.
- Coordinate with external IT vendors and service providers when required.
- Assist with software installation, updates, backups, and routine system maintenance.
- Ensure IT equipment is properly maintained and available for school activities, meetings, examinations, and events.
- Follow school policies relating to data protection, cybersecurity, privacy, and responsible use of technology.
- Maintain records of IT issues, repairs, purchases, and equipment allocation.
2. Administrative Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the school office and leadership team.
- Maintain and organize school records, documents, forms, and databases.
- Assist with data entry, document preparation, filing, scanning, printing, and correspondence.
- Prepare reports, notices, letters, schedules, spreadsheets, and presentations as required.
- Support staff with administrative and operational requirements.
- Assist with student and staff records while maintaining confidentiality.
- Coordinate meetings, appointments, events, and internal communications when required.
- Assist with school admissions, registrations, attendance records, or other administrative processes as assigned.
- Support examination-related administrative and technical requirements.
- Assist with procurement of office and IT supplies and maintain relevant records.
- Communicate professionally with parents, staff, students, vendors, and visitors when required.
IB School Responsibilities
- Demonstrate an understanding of the professional expectations of an international/IB school environment.
- Support the effective use of technology in teaching, learning, assessment, and school administration.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle student and staff information responsibly.
- Support digital systems and technology used for school operations and learning.
- Be willing to learn and work with IB-related platforms, school information systems, learning management systems, and other digital tools used by the school.
- Contribute positively to a collaborative, internationally minded school community.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree or relevant diploma/certification in IT, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of relevant experience in IT support, school administration, office administration, or a similar role.
- Good knowledge of Windows/macOS, Microsoft Office/Google Workspace, printers, networking, and common school technology.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities and prioritize tasks effectively.
- High level of confidentiality, professionalism, and attention to detail.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working in a school or educational institution.
- Experience with an IB school or international school is an advantage.
- Familiarity with school management systems, learning management systems, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, or similar platforms.
- Basic understanding of networking, Wi-Fi, LAN, cybersecurity, and data backup.
- Experience supporting smart boards, projectors, interactive displays, CCTV, printers, and other school technology.
- Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with teachers, students, parents, and vendors.
Personal Attributes
The candidate must be capable of handling both IT Technician and Administrative Assistant responsibilities. The role requires a practical, hands-on individual who can troubleshoot technology issues while also supporting the school's administrative and operational needs.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
