Job Responsibilities
- Operate conventional or CNC milling machines
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and job orders
- Set up workpieces using vices, fixtures, and clamping devices
- Select and install appropriate cutting tools and attachments
- Perform milling operations such as face milling, slotting, drilling, and contouring
- Ensure dimensional accuracy as per tolerance requirements
- Inspect finished components using measuring instruments
- Maintain machine cleanliness and basic upkeep
- Record production output and quality checks
- Follow safety procedures and standard operating practices
Required Skills
- Knowledge of milling machine operations and machining processes
- Ability to read technical drawings and understand tolerances
- Experience with measuring instruments (vernier caliper, micrometer, height gauge)
- Basic understanding of cutting tools and speeds/feeds
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Basic troubleshooting skills
Preferred Experience
- Experience in tool room, automotive, or precision machining industries
- Exposure to CNC milling / VMC machines is an added advantage
- Knowledge of CAD/CAM basics preferred
