Key Responsibilities
- Perform hands-on nursing procedures: IV line/venflon insertion, IV medication administration and infusion monitoring, urinary catheterisation and catheter care, Ryle's tube insertion and feeding, wound dressing, and injection administration (IM/SC/IV)
- Carry out comprehensive nursing assessments; monitor vitals, blood sugar (CBG), intake/output, and pressure injury risk
- Administer medications accurately as per physician orders and maintain proper documentation in the EMR/nursing records
- Manage tracheostomy care, oxygen therapy, nebulisation, and suctioning where required
- Identify and escalate clinical deterioration promptly; assist during medical emergencies
- Supervise and guide nursing assistants/caregivers in daily resident care
- Participate in shift handovers with clear, structured communication
- Follow infection control protocols and support quality/compliance standards (NABH-aligned practices)
- Communicate with residents' families with empathy and professionalism
Requirements
- BSc Nursing from a recognised institution; valid Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives Council registration (mandatory)
- Minimum 3 years of clinical experience in a hospital ward, ICU, or long-term care setting
- Demonstrated hands-on proficiency in IV cannulation, catheterisation, Ryle's tube management, and wound care — candidates will be assessed on practical skills during selection
- Sound knowledge of medication administration, documentation, and infection control
- Fluency in Tamil essential; working English required for documentation
- Comfortable caring for elderly residents, including those with dementia, immobility, and complex comorbidities
- Willing to work rotational shifts including nights and weekends
Preferred
- Experience in geriatric care, post-operative rehabilitation, or palliative care
