Project Architect (Remote, India) - Architecture Practice, Melbourne Full time, remote. Minimum 3 years post-graduation experience. Work directly with the Principal of an Australian practice.
Melbourne based practice working across community, civic, education and health projects. We're looking for a rockstar. Someone with real project scars, who treats every drawing set like it has their name on the cover, because it will.
What you'll do? Everything.
Concept modelling, documentation, detail development, material research, presentation drawings, compliance checking against Australian standards. One week you're building a Rhino massing study, the next you're resolving a junction detail in Revit for a heritage building. You'll work directly with the Principal, not through three layers of associates. If that range and exposure excites you rather than scares you, keep reading.
You must have
B.Arch from a recognised Indian institution and a minimum of 3 years experience in practice. Strong Revit proficiency. Documentation, families, view management, coordination. You produce clean, resolved sheets without hand-holding, and you've done it on real projects that got built or approved. Rhino proficiency for design modelling and iteration. Active use of AI tools in your workflow. Image models, LLMs for research and drafting, whatever your stack is. Tell us how you actually use them, not that you're "aware of" them. A genuine command of construction details and materials. You know why a flashing goes where it goes. You can read a detail and tell us what's wrong with it. You can compose one from scratch and defend your choices.
How we work
Monday to Friday, 40 hours. That's the job, not the starting point for negotiation upward. When a deadline genuinely requires overtime, it's pre-approved in writing before you work it and paid, every hour. We don't do hero culture and we don't reward burnout. Mental health matters here. You'll get clear briefs, realistic deadlines, and a Principal who answers your questions instead of leaving you guessing. If you're overloaded, you say so and we re-plan. The work is demanding. The environment isn't hostile.
