The Quantity Surveying Executive will oversee end-to-end cost management, estimation, contract administration, and commercial operations for construction projects. The role demands strong analytical skills, deep knowledge of construction materials and industry standards, and the ability to manage budgets while ensuring cost efficiency throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate should have 8-10 years of experience in Quantity Surveying, Cost Management in across high-rise, commercial, or institutional projects.
Key Responsibilities
1. Estimation & Cost Planning
- Prepare detailed BOQs, rate analysis, and cost estimates for civil, structural, interior, and finishing works.
- Conduct feasibility cost studies and prepare initial project budgets.
- Perform value engineering to optimize project cost without compromising quality.
2. Tendering & Contract Management
- Prepare and float RFQs/RFPs, evaluate bids, and prepare tender comparison statements.
- Negotiate commercial terms with contractors and vendors to achieve cost competitiveness.
- Draft, review, and administer contracts, work orders, and amendments.
- Ensure compliance with contractual terms and construction standards.
3. Billing & Commercial Control
- Verify and certify contractor RA bills and final bills based on site measurements.
- Track cost deviations, variations, and change orders with proper documentation.
- Maintain material reconciliation, track consumption, and validate contractor claims.
- Prepare monthly cost reports/MIS and monitor project financial progress.
4. Site Coordination & Documentation
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, architects, and consultants for drawings and approvals.
- Ensure alignment of project execution with contractual and financial terms.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation including BOQs, contract files, rate analysis, variation logs, and billing records.
5. Risk & Compliance
- Identify commercial risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Ensure adherence to IS codes, NBC, CPWD/State PWD specifications, and project quality standards.
- Support audits and ensure compliance with statutory and organizational processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering / quantity surveying (Master’s preferred).
- 8-10 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying, cost control, and contract management.
- Strong knowledge of construction methodology, materials, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel (Advanced), QS software, and ERP systems (SAP/PeopleSoft/Oracle).
