Position Overview
The Principal Architect is the Design and Technical Head of Ark Spaces, responsible for leading the firm's architectural vision, design excellence, technical compliance, and project delivery across Residential, Commercial, Industrial, and Hospitality projects. The role ensures every project reflects Ark Spaces' philosophy of delivering premium, functional, and buildable spaces while maintaining profitability, quality, and client satisfaction. The Principal Architect also mentors the design team, establishes design standards, and works closely with the Studio Director, Execution Team, and Managing Director to deliver turnkey projects successfully.
Key Responsibilities
1. Design Leadership
- Lead the conceptualization and development of architectural designs.
- Ensure every project aligns with Ark Spaces' design philosophy and quality standards.
- Approve all architectural concepts before client presentation.
- Guide innovative, sustainable, and practical design solutions.
- Develop signature design standards for the firm.
2. Project Design Management
- Review site conditions and feasibility before design commencement.
- Lead schematic design, design development, and construction documentation.
- Coordinate with Interior Designers, Structural Engineers, MEP Consultants, and Landscape Consultants.
- Ensure seamless integration between architecture, interiors, and execution.
3. Technical Excellence
- Ensure compliance with local building regulations, NBC, CMDA/DTCP requirements, and safety codes.
- Review architectural drawings, construction details, and BOQs.
- Standardize construction details and material specifications.
- Resolve technical issues during execution.
4. Client Management
- Attend high-value client meetings.
- Present design concepts and architectural solutions.
- Provide professional design consultation.
- Handle complex client concerns and design revisions.
5. Design Quality Control
- Review all 2D drawings, 3D renders, working drawings, and GFC drawings before issue.
- Ensure construction drawings are accurate and coordinated.
- Conduct periodic design audits.
- Approve material palettes and architectural finishes.
6. Team Leadership
- Mentor Architects, Interior Designers, Draftsmen, and 3D Visualizers.
- Conduct weekly design reviews.
- Improve team capabilities through training.
- Allocate projects based on team strengths.
7. Site Coordination
- Conduct milestone site visits.
- Ensure execution follows approved drawings.
- Resolve on-site architectural challenges.
- Approve design modifications during execution.
8. Business Development Support
- Participate in premium client pitches.
- Support proposal development.
- Assist in marketing through thought leadership, seminars, and presentations.
- Represent Ark Spaces at industry events.
9. Process Development
- Establish architectural SOPs and design checklists.
- Standardize drawing templates and documentation.
- Develop material and detail libraries.
- Improve workflows for faster project delivery.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Architecture (B.Arch/M.Arch)
- Registered Architect (Council of Architecture preferred)
- 3-5 years of architectural design experience
- Experience in residential, commercial, hospitality, and industrial projects
- Strong knowledge of construction methodologies and turnkey execution
