The Body Shop Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations of the automotive body repair shop, ensuring high-quality service, efficient workflow, and excellent customer satisfaction. This role involves managing staff, coordinating repairs, maintaining compliance with safety standards, and driving profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Operations Management: Supervise all body shop activities including vehicle inspections, repair estimates, and workflow scheduling.
- Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and manage technicians, painters, and support staff to maintain productivity and morale.
- Customer Service: Ensure customers receive accurate repair information, timely updates, and high-quality service.
- Quality Control: Monitor repair processes to guarantee compliance with industry standards and manufacturer guidelines.
- Financial Management: Prepare budgets, control costs, and maximize profitability through efficient resource allocation.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce workplace safety regulations and maintain a clean, hazard-free environment.
- Vendor Coordination: Manage relationships with suppliers for parts, paint, and equipment procurement.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Technology, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in automotive repair, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills; proficiency in repair estimating software; knowledge of insurance claim processes.
