The IT Engineering Business and Support Analyst, on a day-to-day basis responsible for supporting and administrating software for engineering. The scope of support includes, but not limited to, answering service requests, Zoom channel requests and communication engineering applications the main focus of which will be SolidWorks, Pro-E, Cadence tool suites, and PTC Windchill. Additionally will be helping the team support the following engineering application tools: Jira, Confluence, SVN, Bit Bucket, Autodesk 3Ds MAX, SVN, custom applications, etc. Responsible for supporting MS Windows Operating Systems, Linux, VMWare and Citrix as it pertains to the support of engineering applications. The IT Engineering Business Analyst is to be a liaison for the engineering group and the various IT departments in support of the applications.
Key Responsibilities
- 3+ years of experience in a help desk or technical support role.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Proven experience documenting technical issues and solutions in Confluence, KB systems, or similar platforms.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with a customer-first mindset but maintaining the requirements within the organization.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in distributed or global environments.
- Must be able to work independently and self-directed, as well as within a team.
- Track, manage, and escalate support requests as needed to meet service-level expectations.
- Successful candidates should be flexible and able to complete projects outside normal daily duties as needed.
Desired Skills:
- Familiarity with CAD Mechanical and Electrical tools.
- Experience in support of engineering or design-related software applications.
- Practical experience using AI coding assistants (Windsurf, Claude, Copilot, Cursor, or similar) in day-to-day development, including effective prompting and validating AI-generated code.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
