Role description
Job Summary:
We are looking for a motivated Snowflake Developer to join our growing data team. With around 4 years of IT experience and at least 2 years focused on data analytics, you will contribute to building and maintaining our data warehouse solutions on the Snowflake platform. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in SQL and a passion for data. You will be responsible for developing various Snowflake objects and supporting our data integration and reporting efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Snowflake objects, including tables, views, tasks, streams, and SQL procedures/functions.
- Write, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries to support data transformation and analysis.
- Assist in the design and development of data models based on data warehousing concepts like star schemas, facts, and dimensions.
- Work with the team to implement and manage data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
- Collaborate with data architects and analysts to understand requirements and contribute to the development of analytics solutions.
- Support the maintenance and troubleshooting of data warehouse components to ensure data quality and availability.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Approximately 4 years of overall IT experience.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience in a data-focused role (e.g., data engineering, BI development, or database development).
- Strong proficiency in SQL.
- Hands-on experience developing objects in Snowflake (e.g., tables, views, tasks, streams, procedures).
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, including star schema, facts, dimensions, and slowly changing dimensions (SCDs).
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with an ETL tool, preferably Azure Data Factory (ADF).
- Prior experience or exposure to analytics in an SAP environment (S4HANA ABAP CDS views or SAP BW).
- Experience with a reporting tool like PowerBI or Tableau.
- Basic understanding of scripting languages like Python.
