HR Head required for Transport Industry
MBA / MPM / MSW / PGDM in Human Resources or related field
10–12+ years of progressive HR experience, in Transport Industry with strong exposure to payroll and compliance
Experience managing multi-location operations, preferably across Maharashtra, Karnataka, Goa, or similar regions
The Senior HR Manager (HR Head) will lead and oversee the entire Human Resources function, with a primary
focus on payroll governance, statutory compliance, and labour law adherence. This role is critical in ensuring full
compliance with all applicable regulations, including the Shops & Establishments Act, Labour Licenses, Provident
Fund (PF), ESIC, and other statutory requirements.
The position also plays a strategic role in driving HR excellence, strengthening internal processes, and aligning
HR practices with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Payroll Management
Oversee end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and timely disbursement
Ensure correct computation and statutory compliance of PF, ESIC, Professional Tax (PT), TDS, and Labour
Welfare Fund (LWF)
Validate payroll inputs including attendance, leave records, incentives, reimbursements, and deductions
in MS excel.
Collaborate with the Finance team for salary processing, reconciliations, and statutory reporting
Ensure compliance with payroll-related audits and documentation
2. Statutory Compliance & Labour Law Governance
Ensure adherence to all applicable central and state labour laws
Maintain statutory registers, records, and filings (monthly, quarterly, annual)
Manage labour inspections, compliance audits, and notices from government authorities
Ensure timely filing of statutory returns and avoid penalties through proactive compliance management
Stay updated with changes in labour laws and regulatory frameworks
3. Shops & Establishment and License Management
Manage registrations, renewals, and compliance under the Shops & Establishments Act
Oversee Labour License registration and renewals across multiple locations
Ensure adherence to state-specific labour regulations governing working conditions, wages, and
employee rights
Maintain and monitor all statutory licenses, approvals, and certifications required for operations
4. Compliance Audits & Documentation
Lead internal and external statutory audits and compliance reviews
Maintain comprehensive documentation and records for inspections and audits
Coordinate with external consultants, legal advisors, and government bodies
Ensure continuous audit readiness and compliance transparency
5. HR Operations & Strategy
Develop, implement, and update HR policies aligned with legal and organizational requirements
Oversee core HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and
employee engagement
Drive HR process optimization, digitization, and automation initiatives
Partner with leadership on workforce planning, organizational design, and talent strategy
6. Employee Relations & Governance
Manage employee grievances in line with statutory and company policies
Ensure workplace discipline and adherence to organizational standards
Promote a culture of ethics, compliance, and accountability
Strengthen employee communication and engagement practices
Key Skills & Competencies
Strong expertise in Indian labour laws and statutory compliance
Hands-on experience in payroll management and statutory deductions
In-depth knowledge of PF, ESIC, PT, LWF, Shops & Establishment Act, and Labour Licenses
Experience in handling government audits, inspections, and compliance reporting
Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills
High attention to detail with a compliance-driven mindset
