Job Description – Yard Operations Mechanical Engineer
Profile:
The candidate should have experience in marine, shipyard, fabrication, heavy engineering, or industrial project environments with a sound understanding of mechanical systems, equipment maintenance, operational coordination, and yard execution activities.
The ideal candidate should be capable of handling mechanical equipment operations, supervising maintenance activities, coordinating with execution teams, and ensuring smooth functioning of yard machinery and operational assets. Candidates with exposure to ship repair, dry dock operations, fabrication yards, marine engineering projects, cranes, hydraulic systems, rotating equipment, and utility systems will be preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate day-to-day yard mechanical operations and execution activities.
- Ensure proper functioning, maintenance, and availability of yard machinery, equipment, tools, and utility systems.
- Monitor mechanical operations related to fabrication yards, marine equipment, dry dock activities, and heavy engineering projects.
- Coordinate preventive and breakdown maintenance activities for cranes, compressors, pumps, generators, hydraulic systems, and rotating equipment.
- Support project execution teams in equipment mobilization, installation, testing, and operational readiness.
- Maintain records of equipment inspections, maintenance schedules, downtime reports, and operational logs.
- Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, and service providers for repair and maintenance requirements.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, permit systems, and HSE procedures during all yard operations.
- Conduct routine inspections of machinery and identify operational or maintenance-related issues proactively.
- Assist in spare parts planning, inventory monitoring, and procurement coordination for mechanical equipment.
- Support troubleshooting and technical resolution of mechanical failures and operational bottlenecks.
- Coordinate with fabrication, electrical, logistics, and project teams for smooth yard execution activities.
- Ensure proper housekeeping, equipment handling, and operational discipline across the yard.
- Prepare operational reports, maintenance updates, and daily activity summaries for management review.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
