We are looking for a smart, presentable, customer-oriented and enthusiastic Sales Girl to join our ethnic wear store. The candidate will be responsible for assisting customers, understanding their requirements, suggesting suitable ethnic wear, explaining fabric and product features, handling billing, and ensuring an excellent shopping experience.
Key Responsibilities
1. Customer Handling
- Welcome and assist customers in a polite and professional manner.
- Understand customer requirements, preferences, budget and occasion.
- Assist customers in selecting suitable ethnic wear based on their needs.
- Provide personalized suggestions regarding designs, colours, sizes, fabrics and styles.
- Maintain a friendly and positive relationship with customers.
- Handle customer queries, feedback and basic complaints professionally.
2. Product & Fabric Knowledge
- Develop good knowledge of ethnic wear, including Kurtis, Suits, Sarees, Lehengas, Dupattas and other traditional garments.
- Explain different types of fabrics, their quality, comfort, appearance and suitability for different occasions.
- Suggest appropriate fabrics and designs according to season, occasion and customer preference.
- Stay updated with current ethnic fashion trends and new collections.
3. Sales
- Achieve daily, weekly and monthly sales targets.
- Promote new arrivals, special collections and suitable complementary products.
- Upsell and cross-sell products wherever appropriate.
- Maintain proper product presentation and ensure the store looks attractive and organized.
- Follow up with customers, where required, regarding new arrivals and collections.
4. Billing & Cash Counter
- Prepare customer bills accurately using the store's billing/POS system.
- Handle cash, card, UPI and other approved payment methods.
- Ensure correct pricing, discounts and billing details.
- Maintain proper records of sales and transactions.
- Coordinate with the store manager regarding billing discrepancies or returns/exchanges.
5. Store Management
- Maintain cleanliness and proper arrangement of products.
- Ensure garments are properly folded, displayed, tagged and arranged size-wise/design-wise.
- Assist in stock checking and inventory management.
- Coordinate with the Store Manager regarding low-stock items, new arrivals and damaged products.
- Follow store policies relating to sales, exchange, returns and customer service.

- Interest in fashion, ethnic wear and styling.
- Ability to understand fabrics, colours, designs and sizes.

- Ability to work on weekends and during festive/peak shopping periods.
Preferred Qualities
- Prior experience in an ethnic wear, fashion, saree, boutique or apparel store will be an advantage.
- Knowledge of fabrics such as cotton, silk, chiffon, georgette, rayon, linen, organza, velvet, etc.
- Knowledge of traditional and contemporary ethnic fashion.
- Customer-focused and target-oriented approach.
- Well-groomed, confident and courteous personality.
