SANPAR Defence Systems Pvt. Ltd. is seeking a Project Manager to plan, execute, and deliver 5 to 10 major projects
simultaneously across its compressed air treatment, industrial cooling, precision air conditioning, and aerospace-grade
liquid cooling product lines. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the role is the central coordination point
between Design, Technical, Procurement, and Production, driving each project from order booking through engineering,
sourcing, manufacturing, and dispatch — on time, within budget, and in compliance with AS 9100D, DGAQA, and
CEMILAC requirements. The Project Manager is the single point of accountability for the techno-commercial
performance of each project — owning customer and vendor timelines as well as product costing and margin realisation
— and is a strong planner and communicator, comfortable managing competing priorities across a multi-project portfolio
and escalating risks early to keep commitments on track.
Key Responsibilities
Multi-Project Planning & Execution
● Plan, schedule, and track execution of 5–10 concurrent major projects, maintaining a master project portfolio
dashboard for management and MD-level visibility.
● Develop detailed project plans covering engineering, procurement, manufacturing, testing, and dispatch milestones
for each project, with realistic critical-path timelines.
● Monitor progress against plan for every active project, proactively identifying schedule slippage, resource conflicts,
and bottlenecks across the portfolio.
● Prioritise and re-sequence project activities in response to changing customer timelines, resource constraints, or
supply-chain disruptions.
● Maintain project documentation, status reports, and risk registers, and present portfolio-level updates directly to the
Managing Director.
Cross-Functional Coordination
● Interface daily with the Design department to track drawing releases, engineering changes, and technical query
closures affecting project timelines.
● Coordinate with the Technical/Engineering function to resolve design-to-manufacturing issues and ensure timely
technical sign-offs.
● Work closely with Procurement to track long-lead item sourcing, vendor delivery commitments, and material
availability against each project's production schedule.
● Liaise with Production to align shop-floor capacity and sequencing with project priorities, resolving conflicts when
multiple projects compete for the same resources.
● Convene and lead regular cross-functional project review meetings, driving accountability for open action items
across Design, Technical, Procurement, and Production.
Risk, Issue & Escalation Management
● Identify project risks early (technical, material, capacity, or schedule-related) and drive mitigation plans in
coordination with the relevant department.
● Escalate unresolved cross-functional issues or resource conflicts to the Managing Director promptly, with clear
options and recommendations.
● Track and drive closure of engineering changes, non-conformances, and customer queries that impact project
delivery timelines.
Customer & Vendor Timeline Management
● Serve as the primary point of contact for customers on project timelines, proactively communicating progress,
delays, and revised delivery commitments.
● Support customer visits, project reviews, and milestone presentations with accurate, up-to-date project status.
● Interact directly with vendors alongside Procurement to track and secure timely delivery of critical and long-lead
components, escalating and resolving delivery risks before they affect project schedules.
● Drive vendor commitment reviews for project-critical items, ensuring supplier delivery plans stay aligned with the
overall project schedule.
Techno-Commercial Ownership & Margin Management
● Act as the single point of accountability for the techno-commercial performance of each project, owning both
delivery execution and financial outcomes.
● Track and manage product/project costs against budget across engineering, materials, and production, identifying
cost overruns early and driving corrective action.
● Work with Procurement and Production to control input costs and protect target margins on each project without
compromising technical or quality requirements.
● Review project-level costing, pricing assumptions, and variation/change-order impact on margins, flagging
deviations to the Managing Director.
● Report project-wise techno-commercial status (schedule, cost, and margin) as part of portfolio reviews with the
Managing Director.
Compliance & Documentation
● Ensure project execution complies with AS 9100D quality management requirements and applicable
DGAQA/CEMILAC certification norms for defence and aerospace projects.
● Maintain project records, milestone sign-offs, and change documentation in line with company SOPs, including part
numbering and engineering documentation standards.
● Support internal and customer/regulatory audits with project scheduling and execution records.
Qualifications & Experience
● B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Production Engineering (mandatory); PMP certification or
formal project management training is an added advantage.
● 7–12 years of experience in project management within a manufacturing, engineering, defence, or aerospace
environment, with proven experience managing multiple concurrent projects.
● Demonstrated experience coordinating cross-functionally across design, engineering, procurement, and
production/manufacturing teams.
● Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (AS 9100D / DGAQA / CEMILAC or equivalent) is strongly
preferred.
● Working knowledge of project management tools (MS Project, Excel-based trackers, or ERP-integrated planning
tools).
Key Skills & Competencies
● Strong multi-project planning and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage 5–10 simultaneous project timelines
without losing sight of critical details.
● Excellent cross-functional coordination and stakeholder management across Design, Technical, Procurement, and
Production.
● Sharp risk identification and escalation judgement, with the ability to raise the right issues to the MD at the right
time.
● Strong communication skills, both written (status reports, dashboards) and verbal (review meetings, customer
updates).
● High ownership and follow-through; comfortable driving accountability across departments without direct reporting
authority over them.
● Strong techno-commercial acumen — able to read costing, pricing, and margin implications alongside technical and
schedule considerations.
● Proficiency in MS Excel/MS Project and familiarity with ERP-based production/procurement modules.
