Role Summary
We are looking for a skilled SAP ABAP HANA Developer with 5–7 years of hands-on experience to design, develop, and optimize ABAP solutions on SAP HANA and S/4HANA platforms. The role involves modern ABAP development, performance optimization, and close collaboration with functional teams to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions that support business processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and enhance ABAP programs, reports, interfaces, enhancements, and forms in ECC and S/4HANA environments.
- Apply ABAP on HANA principles (code pushdown, optimized Open SQL) to build high-performance solutions.
- Develop and maintain CDS Views and AMDP to support reporting and application requirements.
- Refactor and optimize existing ABAP code for HANA compatibility and performance improvements.
- Develop and expose OData services for integration with SAP Fiori/UI5 applications.
- Work closely with functional consultants (FI, CO, MM, SD, PP, HR) to gather requirements and translate them into technical designs.
- Prepare technical specifications, design documents, and development artifacts.
- Perform unit testing and support SIT/UAT; resolve defects across environments.
- Support transports, deployments, and post-go-live stabilization activities.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement permanent fixes.
- Follow development standards, perform peer code reviews, and ensure quality delivery.
- Coordinate with BASIS and security teams for deployments and access-related needs.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5–7 years of hands-on experience in SAP ABAP development.
- Strong experience with ABAP on HANA and S/4HANA development concepts.
- Hands-on expertise in CDS Views, AMDP, and Open SQL on HANA.
- Solid experience with classic ABAP objects: Reports, ALV, BAPI, BADI, User Exits, Enhancements, IDocs, RFCs.
- Experience building OData services and exposure to SAP Fiori/UI5 integration.
- Good understanding of SAP data models and performance optimization techniques.
- Experience with SPAU/SPDD and custom code remediation for S/4HANA readiness (nice to have).
- Good understanding of SAP functional modules (FI, CO, MM, SD, PP, HR).
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
Nice to Have
- Exposure to RAP model and modern ABAP (ABAP OO).
- Experience with SAP BTP integrations.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- SAP ABAP / S/4HANA certifications.
