Role Objective
Enable effective student learning by adapting English activity content into natural, culturally relevant, and student-friendly language, moving beyond literal translation.
Core Responsibilities (Applicable to All)
- Preserve the meaning, intent, and learning objective of the original content
- Ensure clear, simple, and conversational language suitable for Grades 6–10
- Adapt content to be engaging and culturally relevant
- Avoid word-for-word (mechanical) translation
- Follow defined translation guidelines and quality standards
Translator Responsibilities
- Perform natural and contextual adaptation of activity content
- Ensure instructional clarity in all translated activities
- Use bilingual headings (English + target language)
- Maintain age-appropriate tone, especially for sensitive topics
- Add English support (in brackets) where required for difficult terms
Reviewer Responsibilities
- Review for natural flow and readability
- Eliminate literal or awkward translations
- Validate clarity of instructions and activity intent
- Ensure tone appropriateness, especially for sensitive topics
- Enforce adherence to guidelines, formatting, and consistency
Required Qualifications
Experience
- 5+ years in translation, localization, or linguistic review
Language Expertise
- Native or near-native fluency in Bengali or Kannada
- Strong ability to produce natural, non-mechanical translations
Content Understanding
- Comfort handling school-level topics including life skills, health, financial literacy, and adolescence education
Academic Alignment
- Ability to adapt content appropriately for Grades 6–10 learners
