Job Summary
Broadridge is seeking a Senior Software Engineer / Technology Lead (Back-End Java) to join a focused, energetic and dedicated team developing our ground-breaking FinTech SaaS wealth products running in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud. Experience designing, developing and delivering cloud-native software solutions on AWS is highly desirable.
We are looking for an engineer who collaborates effectively across Engineering, Product and QA teams, continuously raises engineering standards, contributes to technical design discussions, and champions an API-first development philosophy by designing and scaling robust microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
This position is offered on a contract basis and is based in either Hyderabad or Bangalore using a hybrid working model. The successful candidate will be expected to ramp up quickly and contribute to the delivery of strategic product initiatives from an early stage.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop and maintain scalable Back-End services and APIs for cloud-native financial products. Primarily developing Back-End services while collaborating across database, infrastructure and, where required, Front-End components. Develop primarily using Java 8+, Spring Boot and associated Back-End technologies. Exposure to Python is advantageous. Develop and deploy cloud-native applications using AWS together with technologies such as Docker, Nomad, Terraform and modern CI/CD pipelines. Design and develop RESTful APIs and microservices. Strong commercial experience developing enterprise applications using Java 8+, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, RESTful APIs and microservices. Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs. Participate in code reviews, technical design sessions and architecture discussions. Support production systems through monitoring, troubleshooting, root cause analysis and continuous improvement. Demonstrate a commitment to delivering high-quality, performant and robust software within agreed delivery estimates and quality standards. Contribute to estimation exercises that feed into product roadmaps plans. Participate in changes, and continuous improvements, to existing software development, testing and deployment processes. Skill Requirements
4–12 years of professional software engineering experience depending on level.
Candidates with 4 to 6 years’ experience will typically be considered for Senior Member Technical (P2)
Candidates with 6 to 12 years’ experience demonstrating greater technical leadership may be considered for Technology Lead (P3).
More experienced candidates may also mentor junior engineers, contribute to technical direction, participate in architectural discussions and help drive engineering best practices across the team.
Strong commercial experience developing enterprise applications using Java 8+, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, REST APIs and microservices.
Experience designing and developing REST APIs.
Experience building distributed or cloud-native applications.
Experience with Git-based source control, Maven, AWS and one or more major RDBMS, preferably PostgreSQL.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to show flexibility and reach compromise where appropriate,
Proven experience working with Agile SDLC methodologies and frameworks (Scrum, Kanban),
Experience working within CI/CD pipelines, automated testing practices and modern DevOps environments.
Willingness to take ownership for assigned aspects of the project(s) and proven ability to work constructively in a shared team environment,
Primary or Postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline,
Full Professional Proficiency of English.
