Key ResponsibilitiesClinical (Optometrist Duties)
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations, including vision testing and ocular health assessments.
- Prescribe spectacles and manage refractive errors.
- Identify common eye diseases and refer patients to ophthalmologists or specialists when required.
- Educate patients on eye care, contact lens usage, and preventive eye health practices.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with clinical standards and protocols.
Community Coordination Duties
- Plan, organize, and execute community eye screening camps and awareness programs.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with schools, NGOs, hospitals, corporate organizations, and local community groups.
- Coordinate camp schedules, logistics, volunteers, and stakeholder communication.
- Collect, analyze, and report data related to outreach activities and program outcomes.
- Conduct eye health awareness sessions, workshops, and community education initiatives.
- Promote eye health through awareness campaigns, social media, and local engagement activities.
- Act as the primary liaison with Marathi-speaking communities to ensure effective communication and participation.
- Assist in mobilizing beneficiaries and coordinating local support for community eye care programs.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Optometry from a recognized institution.
- Fluency in Marathi (Reading, Writing, and Speaking) is mandatory.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in community outreach, public health programs, or NGO projects is preferred.
- Strong organizational, coordination, and project management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and basic data management tools.
- Willingness to travel extensively within assigned locations for community programs and eye screening camps.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Registered Optometrist (where applicable).
- Prior experience in organizing community health camps or vision screening programs.
- Passion for community service and preventive eye care.
- Excellent public speaking and stakeholder management skills.
- Valid driving license will be an added advantage.
