Role Overview
The WE Foundation is looking for a creative and detail-oriented Content Writer – Proposal is responsible for developing high-quality, persuasive, and compliant proposal content that supports the organization's business development and client acquisition efforts. This role works closely with business development, technical, operations, and subject matter experts to create compelling responses to Requests for Proposal (RFPs), Requests for Quotation (RFQs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and other bid opportunities.
The Content Writer (Proposal) ensures that all proposal documents are accurate, well-structured, client-focused, and aligned with the organization's branding, quality standards, and strategic objectives. Success in this role requires excellent writing, editing, research, and communication skills, along with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver winning proposals.
Key Responsibilities
Proposal & Grant Writing
· Research and identify funding opportunities from corporate CSR programmes, foundations, government agencies, and multilateral organisations.
· Develop high-quality grant proposals, concept notes, Expressions of Interest (EOIs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and funding applications.
· Tailor proposals to align with donor priorities, eligibility criteria, and submission guidelines.
· Ensure proposals are well-structured, persuasive, and submitted within deadlines.
Proposal Coordination & Stakeholder Collaboration
· Collaborate with Business Development, Sales, Technical, Operations, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to gather information required for proposal development.
· Coordinate with internal stakeholders to obtain technical inputs, project details, case studies, and supporting documentation within proposal timelines.
· Participate in proposal planning meetings and contribute to developing proposal strategies and win themes.
· Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure proposal submissions are complete, compliant, and submitted within deadlines.
Content Creation
· Draft executive summaries, technical narratives, methodologies, project approaches, implementation plans, and value propositions that align with client requirements.
· Tailor proposal content to reflect the organisation's capabilities, services, and competitive strengths while maintaining a consistent brand voice.
· Ensure all proposal content is clear, accurate, compelling, and aligned with organisational quality standards.
Research, Compliance & Quality Assurance
· Analyse client requirements, evaluation criteria, and tender documents to ensure proposal responses fully address all mandatory requirements.
· Conduct research on clients, industry trends, competitors, and market insights to strengthen proposal content and positioning.
· Review, edit, and proofread proposal documents for accuracy, grammar, consistency, formatting, and compliance before submission.
· Ensure all proposal documents comply with organisational policies, client guidelines, branding standards, and confidentiality requirements.
Content Management & Continuous Improvement· Maintain and update a central repository of proposal content, templates, case studies, resumes, and reusable knowledge assets.· Track proposal versions and maintain document control throughout the proposal development lifecycle.· Identify opportunities to improve proposal writing processes, templates, and content quality based on feedback and lessons learned.· Support the development of capability statements, company profiles, presentations, and other business development materials as required.
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Mass Communication, Public Administration, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Business Administration, or a related field.
· 2–3 years of experience in proposal writing, grant writing, content development, technical writing, or business development, preferably in the non-profit, development, CSR, healthcare, education, or social impact sector.
Required Skills
· Excellent proposal writing, business writing, and technical writing skills.
· Strong command of English (Both, written and verbal) with exceptional grammar, editing, proofreading, and storytelling abilities.
· Ability to develop compelling proposals, concept notes, grant applications, Expressions of Interest (EOIs), and Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
· Strong research, analytical, and data interpretation skills to develop evidence-based and persuasive content.
· Knowledge of proposal development frameworks, logical frameworks (LogFrames), Results-Based Management (RBM), and Theory of Change is an advantage.
· Familiarity with donor compliance requirements, grant guidelines, CSR funding frameworks, and government tender documentation.
· Excellent planning, time-management, and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple proposal deadlines simultaneously.
· Commitment to maintaining confidentiality, professionalism, and ethical standards throughout the proposal development process.
