Job Description
We are not looking for an "elementor-only" page builder or someone who simply installs pre-made themes and plugins. We need a true developer.
The ideal candidate must be able to develop completely custom, lightweight WordPress themes from scratch (utilizing custom PHP, HTML5, CSS/SASS, and JavaScript/GSAP). You should have a deep understanding of WordPress architecture, database optimization, and performance tuning to ensure lightning-fast load times.
Like the rest of our team, you should be highly resourceful, capable of understanding project requirements instantly without constant back-and-forth, and skilled at using AI tools to accelerate your coding, debugging, and development workflow.
Key Responsibilities
- Custom Theme Development: Build clean, responsive, and secure WordPress themes from scratch (no bloated pre-made templates or heavy multi-purpose themes).
- High-Performance Optimization: Deliver websites that score incredibly well on Core Web Vitals, utilizing clean code, efficient caching, and lightweight animation libraries (like GSAP) rather than heavy plugins.
- WooCommerce & Custom Functionality: Develop and integrate custom e-commerce features, API integrations, and custom post types/fields (ACF Pro) seamlessly.
- AI-Assisted Workflow: Actively leverage AI coding assistants (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, etc.) to write, debug, and optimize code faster.
- Project Ownership: Take a UI/UX design (Figma/Adobe XD) and turn it into a pixel-perfect, fully functioning website with zero hand-holding.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Proven Experience: Strong portfolio of custom-coded, responsive WordPress websites built from scratch.
- Technical Mastery: Deep proficiency in PHP, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3 (SASS/Tailwind), and JavaScript (ES6+).
- Custom Fields & Post Types: Expert-level knowledge of Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) or custom meta boxes to build flexible, client-friendly Gutenberg/backend editors.
- Performance-First Mindset: Solid understanding of page speed optimization, hosting environments (like Hostinger/20i), and modern caching strategies.
- Problem Solver: A smart, independent thinker who understands complex project scopes easily, researches solutions on their own, and doesn't need constant direction.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with lightweight animations using libraries like GSAP.
- Experience integrating custom databases or third-party APIs into WordPress.
- Understanding of basic web design and UX principles.
