Job Summary
The Finishing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all finishing operations in the packaging manufacturing process, ensuring that finished products meet quality standards, production targets, and customer specifications. The role involves managing manpower, monitoring machine performance, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring timely completion of finishing activities such as slitting, rewinding, inspection, packing, and dispatch preparation.
Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Management
- Supervise day-to-day finishing operations to achieve production targets.
- Plan and allocate manpower effectively across finishing activities.
- Monitor machine utilization and production efficiency.
- Ensure timely completion of production schedules as per dispatch requirements.
- Minimize downtime and coordinate with maintenance teams for machine breakdowns.
Quality Control
- Ensure finished products comply with customer specifications and quality standards.
- Conduct regular inspections during finishing operations.
- Identify and resolve quality issues related to printing, lamination, slitting, rewinding, and packing.
- Coordinate with the Quality Assurance department for corrective and preventive actions.
Team Management
- Lead, guide, and motivate operators, helpers, and packing staff.
- Conduct shift briefings and monitor workforce productivity.
- Train employees on SOPs, quality standards, safety practices, and operational procedures.
- Maintain discipline and ensure adherence to company policies.
Process & Documentation
- Maintain daily production reports, shift reports, and rejection records.
- Monitor wastage and implement measures for waste reduction.
- Ensure accurate recording of production data and inventory movement.
- Follow standard operating procedures and work instructions.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations and company policies.
- Promote the use of PPE and safe work practices.
- Participate in safety audits and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain housekeeping standards in the finishing area.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and productivity enhancement.
- Support Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with Production, Maintenance, Quality, and Stores departments for smooth operations.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Packaging Technology, or related field.
- Relevant certifications in Production Management or Quality Systems are an added advantage.
Experience
- 3–8 years of experience in the Packaging Manufacturing Industry.
- Hands-on experience in flexible packaging, printed packaging, labels, cartons, or corrugated packaging finishing processes.
- Experience handling slitting, rewinding, inspection, packing, and dispatch-related activities.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of packaging finishing processes and machinery.

Pay: ₹200,000.00 - ₹300,000.00 per year
