To support our continued success and deliver a Fanatical Experience™ to our customers, Rackspace Cyber Defence is looking for an Indian based Security Engineer, with a specialist in Network Security to support Rackspace’s strategic customers.
This role is particularly well-suited to a self-starting, experienced and motivated Sr. Security Engineer, who has a proven record of accomplishment in the design, delivery, management, operation and continuous improvement of enterprise-level cloud security platforms or delivering managed security services to customers.
The primary focus will be on the design, implementation, management, operation and continuous improvement of cloud-native security across customer Microsoft Azure, AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment.
You will also be required to liaise closely with the customer’s key stakeholders, which may include incident response and disaster recovery teams as well as information security.
Key Accountabilities
- Ensure customer's network security and Azure environments remain secure, stable, and operational always.
- Assist with customer onboarding activities including:
- Platform onboarding
- Firewall policy implementation
- Azure network configuration
- Service transition and operations support
- Provide advanced operational support for Palo Alto and Fortinet firewall environments deployed in Azure and hybrid infrastructures.
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex firewall, VPN, routing, and connectivity incidents.
- Own incidents through to resolution within L2 scope while ensuring clear communication with customers, stakeholders and within the Team.
- Perform detailed analysis of security and network events, identify incidents, and implement corrective actions.
- Manage and assist with firewall rule changes, policy optimizations, upgrades, migrations, and configuration updates.
- Troubleshoot App-ID, URL Filtering, IPsec & Remote VPN, Static & Dynamic routing, NAT, connectivity issues and cloud network integration issues.
- Execute & assist with maintenance and change activities while ensuring compliance with change management processes.
- Coordinate with vendors, cloud providers, and internal engineering teams for issue resolution.
- Escalate critical or complex issues to L3 teams with detailed technical analysis and recommendations.
- Participate in major incident management, post-incident reviews, and root cause analysis activities.
- Contribute to operational documentation, knowledge articles, and process improvements.
- Mentor L1 engineers and provide technical guidance during incident resolution.
- Support after-hours maintenance and critical incident activities when required.
Skills & Experience
Mandatory Technical Skills
- 5+ years of hands-on Network Security experience.
- Proven expertise in:
- Palo Alto Networks, Panorama and VM-Series Firewalls (Azure deployments)
- FortiManager and FortiGate VM Firewalls (Azure deployments)
- Microsoft Azure Networking including:
- VNets
- Subnets
- Route Tables
- NSGs
- Azure Load Balancer
- VPN Gateway
- Strong knowledge of:
- Firewall technologies
- IDS/IPS
- Network Detection and Response (NDR)
- Web Application Firewalls (WAF)
- Micro-segmentation
- Hybrid and cloud-native security architectures
- Advanced operational experience including:
- Packet level troubleshooting and analysis
- Firewall management and configuration using Panorama and FortiManager
- Firmware upgrades and lifecycle management
- Security rule optimization and compliance reviews
- Hands-on experience supporting Azure-hosted firewall solutions and cloud networking architecture.
- Strong understanding of Azure security services and cloud infrastructure security best practices.

- Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE)
- Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Administrator (PCNSA)
- Fortinet NSE 4 / NSE 5 (or equivalent FCP certifications)
- Microsoft Azure Network Engineer Associate (AZ-700)
- Microsoft Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500)
