Job Summary
The Senior Project Engineer – MEP manages the execution of MEP systems for construction projects. This role involves coordinating with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of MEP services.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, execute, and monitor all MEP activities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review MEP drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, civil engineers, and other stakeholders.
- Prepare project schedules and monitor progress against milestones.
- Supervise site engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and technicians.
- Ensure installation complies with project specifications, local codes, and safety regulations.
- Conduct inspections, testing, and commissioning of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
- Resolve technical issues and provide engineering solutions on site.
- Prepare material submittals, method statements, RFIs, shop drawings, and as-built drawings.
- Manage procurement and ensure timely delivery of MEP materials and equipment.
- Monitor project costs and support budget control.
- Conduct progress meetings and prepare weekly/monthly project reports.
- Ensure compliance with Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) and Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) requirements.
- Coordinate project handover, snag rectification, and final documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 8–15 years of experience in MEP construction projects.
- Experience in commercial, residential, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire fighting, ELV, and BMS systems.
- Familiarity with international standards and local building regulations.
