Job Summary
We are looking for a hands-on and technically strong Maintenance Engineer to manage preventive, breakdown, and improvement maintenance activities for our solar inverter manufacturing plant. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring maximum uptime of production machines, utility systems, electrical panels, semi-automation systems, and automation equipment while supporting the factory scale-up from current operations to 3–4x capacity.
The role requires strong troubleshooting capability, team management skills, and practical exposure to SMT, assembly, testing, wave soldering, conveyors, automation systems, pneumatic systems, and electrical panels.
Key Responsibilities
1. Machine Maintenance & Uptime
· Ensure smooth operation and maximum uptime of all production machines.
· Handle preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities.
· Prepare and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all machines and utilities.
· Monitor machine health and reduce machine downtime through root cause analysis.
· Maintain machine history records, downtime reports, and maintenance logs.
· Coordinate with production team for planned maintenance activities.
2. Automation & Semi-Automation Support
· Maintain semi-automatic and automatic production equipment.
· Troubleshoot PLC-based systems, sensors, relays, drives, HMIs, conveyors, pneumatic systems, and motor controls.
· Support new automation implementation and machine commissioning.
· Work with vendors during machine installation, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
· Suggest productivity and reliability improvement ideas for automation systems.
3. Electrical & Panel Maintenance
· Maintain LT panels, control panels, machine panels, and power distribution systems.
· Troubleshoot electrical faults related to AC/DC systems, contactors, relays, SMPS, VFDs, motors, and control circuits.
· Ensure proper electrical safety practices across the factory.
· Support wiring modifications and panel improvements as required.
· Ensure proper earthing, ESD compliance, and electrical safety standards.
5. Team Management
· Lead and manage a team of 3–4 maintenance technicians.
· Allocate daily maintenance activities and monitor execution.
· Train technicians on troubleshooting, safety, and preventive maintenance.
· Ensure discipline, documentation, and shift handovers.
· Build technical capability within the maintenance team.
6. Spare Management & Documentation
· Maintain critical spare parts inventory.
· Raise indent requests for required spares and consumables.
· Coordinate with purchase team for urgent maintenance requirements.
· Maintain maintenance SOPs, checklists, machine manuals, and documentation.
7. Continuous Improvement
· Identify opportunities for productivity improvement and downtime reduction.
· Support Kaizen, 5S, Poka-Yoke, and lean manufacturing initiatives.
· Drive energy-saving and maintenance cost reduction initiatives.
Required SkillsTechnical Skills
· Strong knowledge of electrical and electronic systems.
· Hands-on troubleshooting experience in industrial machines.
· Understanding of PLCs, sensors, pneumatic systems, drives, and automation systems.
· Knowledge of machine control panels and industrial wiring.
· Experience in preventive and breakdown maintenance.
· Basic understanding of SMT, wave soldering, conveyors, assembly lines, and testing equipment preferred.
· Ability to read electrical drawings and machine manuals.
