The Role
We are hiring a Senior Chemical Engineer who can independently own engineering packages end-to-end (BEP → FEED → DEP), set up and critically review process simulations, and work alongside AI tools as a daily co-pilot. You will report directly to the CEO and interface with international clients on technical reviews.
This is a hands-on senior role — not a managerial one. You will produce deliverables that go straight to clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Basic Engineering Packages (BEP): Develop process flow diagrams, heat and mass balances, equipment sizing, utilities estimation, and preliminary plot plans.
- Front-End Engineering Design (FEED): Lead detailed PFDs, P&IDs, equipment datasheets, line lists, control philosophy, hazard reviews, and cost estimates.
- Detailed Engineering Packages (DEP): Deliver issued-for-construction drawings, specifications, vendor data review, and construction support documents.
- Process Simulation: Set up, run, and validate simulations in Aspen Plus, HYSYS, CHEMCAD, or PRO-II for pyrolysis, distillation, vapour-handling, condensation, and utility systems.
- Simulation QC & Review: Critically review third-party simulations and engineering deliverables. Produce written simulation review reports identifying assumptions, gaps, and corrections.
- AI-Augmented Engineering: Use AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, internal AI agents) to accelerate calculations, document drafting, simulation setup, and design review. Write clear, structured specifications that AI tools can execute on accurately.
- Safety & Design Reviews: Participate in HAZOP, LOPA, and design reviews with international clients.
- Mentorship: Review junior engineers' deliverables before client release.
Required Qualifications
- B.Tech or M.Tech in Chemical Engineering from a reputed institute (IIT / NIT / UDCT / equivalent strongly preferred).
- 5–30 years of EPC or process design experience in oil & gas, petrochemicals, refining, specialty chemicals, or pyrolysis / waste-to-energy.
- Demonstrated track record producing BEP, FEED, and DEP deliverables that have gone to client review or issued-for-construction.
- Hands-on simulation experience in at least two of: Aspen Plus, HYSYS, CHEMCAD, PRO-II, or equivalent.
- Coding literacy — Python preferred. You don't need to be a software engineer, but you should be comfortable reading and writing basic Python scripts (numpy / pandas / matplotlib), and you should be able to use AI coding assistants effectively. The ability to specify what you want clearly enough that AI can execute on it is a core part of this role.
- Strong written English — your deliverables will be read by international clients.
Preferred Qualifications
- Pyrolysis, gasification, thermal cracking, or hydrocarbon vapour-handling experience.
- Familiarity with international PFD / P&ID standards (ISA, ASME, API).
- Prior HAZOP, LOPA, or SIL study participation.
- Direct experience working with US or EU clients in a client-facing technical role.
What We Offer
- CTC: ₹12 – 24 LPA, calibrated to experience and demonstrated capability.
- Direct exposure to international EPC clients and high-impact engineering decisions.
- An AI-augmented engineering workflow — you will be among the first chemical engineers in India to design with AI co-pilots as a daily tool, not as a novelty.
- Profit-share for senior engineers (APChemi policy: a meaningful share of project profits flows back to the engineers who delivered them).
- Clear, performance-based growth path — measured by the quality of what you ship, not by hours logged.
How to Apply
Send the following to [email protected] with the subject line "Senior ChemE — [Your Name]":
- Your CV.
- One page describing the most complex BEP, FEED, or DEP deliverable you have personally led — what the scope was, what simulations you ran, and what the outcome was.
- (Optional) A link to any code, script, or AI workflow you have built.
We read every application. Strong applications will hear from us quickly.
