Job Description – Purchase cum Store Executive

Position: Purchase cum Store Executive

Key ResponsibilitiesPurchase Activities
- Handle procurement of raw materials, consumables, tools, spare parts, and engineering items.
- Obtain quotations from vendors and perform price comparisons.
- Prepare and process Purchase Orders (POs) as per company requirements.
- Follow up with suppliers for timely delivery of materials.
- Maintain vendor records and develop new suppliers.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, and Planning departments for material requirements.
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules with vendors.
- Ensure timely procurement to avoid production delays.
- Maintain purchase documentation and records.
Store Activities
- Manage inward and outward movement of materials.
- Verify received materials against Purchase Orders and Delivery Challans.
- Maintain proper inventory records and stock registers.
- Ensure accurate material issuance to production departments.
- Conduct regular stock verification and physical inventory checks.
- Monitor minimum stock levels and initiate replenishment requests.
- Maintain proper storage, identification, and preservation of materials.
- Coordinate with Quality Department for incoming material inspection.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports.
Documentation & System Management
- Update inventory and purchase transactions in ERP/software.
- Maintain GRN (Goods Receipt Note), Material Issue Slips, and Store Records.
- Generate inventory, purchase, and stock aging reports.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and audit requirements.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of Purchase and Store Management.
- Understanding of inventory control and material planning.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and MS Excel.
- Good negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Strong documentation and record-keeping abilities.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
Educational Qualification
- Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in Purchase and Store functions, preferably in an Engineering or Manufacturing Industry.
