Job Summary
The Restaurant Cashier is responsible for providing excellent guest service by accurately processing customer orders and payments, maintaining cash and billing records, and ensuring smooth front-desk operations. The cashier acts as the first and last point of contact for guests, creating a positive dining experience while following company policies and hospitality standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Service
- Welcome guests with a warm and professional attitude.
- Assist guests with billing, payment, and order-related queries.
- Ensure every guest receives prompt and courteous service.
- Handle customer complaints politely and escalate issues to the Restaurant Manager when required.
Billing & Cash Handling
- Generate accurate bills using the POS system.
- Accept payments through cash, credit/debit cards, UPI, gift vouchers, and other approved payment methods.
- Issue receipts for all transactions.
- Maintain and safeguard the cash drawer during the shift.
- Count and reconcile cash at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Report any cash shortages or discrepancies immediately.
POS Operations
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently.
- Apply discounts, promotional offers, and coupons only with proper authorization.
- Process refunds, cancellations, and void bills according to company policy.
- Ensure all transactions are recorded accurately.
Restaurant Coordination
- Coordinate with kitchen and service staff to ensure correct order billing.
- Update takeaway, dine-in, and online delivery orders accurately.
- Maintain communication with delivery partners whenever required.
Administrative Duties
- Prepare daily sales and cash reports.
- Maintain billing records and supporting documents.
- Keep the cashier counter clean, organized, and presentable.
- Follow company SOPs, hygiene standards, and cash-handling procedures.
Qualifications
- Minimum 12th Pass.
- Graduate in Hospitality, Commerce, or any related field is preferred.
Experience
- 1–2 years of experience as a Cashier in a restaurant, café, hotel, or hospitality industry is preferred.
Required Skills
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Knowledge of POS billing software.
- Basic computer knowledge (MS Excel and MS Word).
- Strong numerical and cash-handling skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
- Honest, reliable, and responsible.
- Good teamwork and time management skills.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
