Job Summary
We are hiring an energetic Content Creator to tell the SMEC story across Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and LinkedIn. You will script, shoot, and appear in reels, plan content calendars, and turn student success stories and tech topics into engaging content that drives course enquiries. Whether you are a fresher who already creates content or a creator with up to 2 years of experience, if you are comfortable in front of the camera and understand what the Kerala student audience watches, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, script, shoot, and edit reels, shorts, and videos for Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook
- Anchor / appear on camera for course promos, campus tours, student testimonials, and trending-format videos
- Build and manage a monthly content calendar aligned with course launches, admissions, and campaigns
- Write engaging captions, hooks, and scripts in English and Malayalam (Manglish) for a young student audience
- Cover live events — seminars, workshops, placement drives, and tech fests — and turn them into content
- Interview students, trainers, and placed candidates to create success-story content
- Track content performance (views, engagement, follower growth) and double down on what works
- Stay on top of social media trends, trending audio, and formats, and adapt them to our brand
- Coordinate with the graphic designer and digital marketing team for creatives and campaign content
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline; Media, Communications, or Journalism background is a plus
- 0–2 years of experience in content creation, social media, or video production (personal pages/freelance work counts)
- Confidence in front of the camera with clear, engaging delivery in Malayalam and English
- Hands-on video shooting and editing skills using mobile or tools like CapCut / Premiere Pro / VN
- Strong scriptwriting and storytelling ability tailored to Instagram reels and YouTube shorts
- Good understanding of what works on Instagram and YouTube for the Kerala audience
- A portfolio of created content — reels, videos, or social media pages (mandatory; personal accounts accepted)
- Familiarity with AI content tools (ChatGPT, caption/script generators) is a plus
