Job Summary
The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring smooth operation and maintenance of all production machinery and utility equipment in the rope manufacturing plant. The role involves preventive and breakdown maintenance, reducing machine downtime, improving equipment reliability, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of rope manufacturing machines.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues.
- Minimize machine downtime to ensure uninterrupted production.
- Prepare and implement preventive maintenance schedules.
- Inspect machines regularly and recommend repairs or replacements.
- Coordinate with the production team for planned maintenance activities.
- Maintain maintenance records, logs, and spare parts inventory.
- Ensure availability of critical spare parts and maintenance tools.
- Supervise maintenance technicians and contractors during repair work.
- Install, commission, and test new machinery and equipment.
- Monitor machine performance and suggest improvements for higher efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with safety, electrical, and statutory regulations.
- Coordinate with vendors for AMC, machine servicing, and spare procurement.
- Support utility maintenance, including air compressors, DG sets, electrical panels, and other plant equipment.
- Maintain 5S and housekeeping standards in the maintenance department.
- Assist in reducing maintenance costs through continuous improvement initiatives.
