Job Title: Bar Steward
Department: Food & Beverage Service – Bar
Reports To: Bar Captain / Bar Supervisor / Restaurant Manager
Job Summary:
The Bar Steward is responsible for providing efficient and courteous beverage service to guests while ensuring high standards of customer service, cleanliness, and hygiene in the bar area. The role supports smooth bar operations and contributes to enhancing the guest experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome guests and provide friendly, professional, and efficient service.
- Take beverage and snack orders accurately and serve guests promptly.
- Assist in preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages as per hotel standards.
- Ensure proper setup and cleanliness of the bar area before, during, and after service.
- Maintain adequate stock of beverages, garnishes, glassware, and bar supplies.
- Assist in replenishing bar inventory and inform supervisors about stock shortages.
- Ensure all glassware, equipment, and service utensils are clean and properly maintained.
- Clear tables and maintain cleanliness in guest seating areas.
- Handle guest requests and complaints professionally and promptly.
- Promote and upsell beverages, cocktails, and special promotions to guests.
- Follow responsible alcohol service practices and comply with legal regulations.
- Coordinate with the kitchen and service team to ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain proper hygiene, grooming, and sanitation standards at all times.
- Adhere to company policies, safety procedures, and standard operating procedures.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Diploma or Degree in Hotel Management preferred.
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in bar service, restaurants, or hotels.
- Freshers with relevant hospitality qualifications may also apply.
- Basic knowledge of beverages, cocktails, wines, and spirits is preferred.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
