Key Responsibilities
- Field Prospecting & Direct Engagement – Conduct daily field visits to assigned government departments, PSUs, and autonomous bodies; identify and meet with procurement officers, technical heads, finance managers, and senior decision-makers; conduct cold calls and walk-ins with structured sales approach
- Lead Identification & Qualification – Identify infrastructure modernization, IT security, and procurement needs within assigned territories; qualify leads based on budget, timeline, and decision-making authority; maintain detailed lead intelligence and opportunity tracking
- Territory Management – Work assigned government sectors/departments with strategic frequency; maintain territory action plan with weekly/monthly visit schedules; build a network of government contacts across assigned region
- Pipeline Building & Lead Handoff – Develop pre-qualified opportunities and hand off to Business Development Manager for proposal development and closure; ensure detailed lead documentation with key contact information, requirements, and next steps
- Relationship Development – Build rapport with government procurement professionals; provide preliminary product/service information and capability overviews; address initial queries and objections
- Market Intelligence & Feedback – Gather competitive information from field; report on government sector trends, procurement timelines, and budget cycles; provide input on market challenges and opportunities
- CRM & Documentation – Log all activities, meetings, and leads in CRM system (Salesforce/HubSpot); maintain accurate lead database with contact details, interactions, and follow-up status; prepare weekly reports on field activities and pipeline status
