Role Description
The role involves board bring-up, hardware-software integration, operating system configuration, low-level debugging, interface validation, customer technical support, proof-of-concept development, and system demonstrations. The engineer will work closely with customers, OEM partners, and internal engineering teams to deliver technically robust and commercially viable embedded computing solutions.
Desired Experience
a. Minimum 3–5 years of work experience with:
- Embedded computing platforms based on Intel, ARM, NVIDIA, and PowerPC architectures.
- System integration, board bring-up, and hardware-software validation.
- Embedded Linux (Ubuntu/RHEL) and Windows operating environments.
- PCIe, Ethernet, USB, SATA, Serial, VPX, VME, and CompactPCI interface technologies.
- C/C++ Programming, BSP configuration, driver integration, and embedded application development.
b. Hands-on experience in hardware-software integration, board-level debugging, system validation, and customer support activities.
c. Strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, analytical thinking, and proactive problem-solving ability.
Key Responsibilities
1. Analyze customer requirements and perform technical feasibility studies for embedded computing and communication solutions.
2. Perform board bring-up, system integration, hardware-software validation, and platform qualification activities.
3. Configure, integrate, and validate operating systems, BSPs, device drivers, middleware, and embedded applications on target hardware.
4. Integrate and validate high-speed interfaces including PCIe, Ethernet, USB, SATA, Serial, VPX, VME, and CompactPCI.
5. Perform low-level debugging of hardware, firmware, BSP, drivers, and application software using appropriate development and diagnostic tools.
6. Prepare technical deliverables including:
a. Compliance matrices
b. Validation reports
c. Test procedures
d. Integration documents
e. User manuals
f. Application notes
7. Develop Proof of Concepts (PoCs), evaluation platforms, reference designs, and customer demonstrations.
8. Provide technical support throughout the product lifecycle, including pre-sales support, customer evaluations, deployment assistance, product demonstrations, and technical training.
9. Collaborate with hardware & software and quality teams to ensure successful project execution and timely product delivery.
10. Support product verification, qualification, factory acceptance testing (FAT), customer acceptance testing (CAT), and field deployment activities.
