Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Accountant role based in Bhubaneswar. The Accountant will manage day-to-day accounting operations, including recording financial transactions, maintaining ledgers, and reconciling bank statements. The role involves preparing invoices, handling accounts payable and receivable, and assisting with payroll processing in coordination with relevant internal teams. The Accountant will support monthly and annual closing activities, including preparation of financial reports, budgeting inputs, and variance analyses as needed. The position also requires ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards, taxation rules, and internal policies, as well as collaborating with management and external auditors when required.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in financial accounting, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and preparation of basic financial statements.
- Proficiency with accounting software and MS Excel and Tally Prime.
- Knowledge of Indian taxation, GST, TDS, and regulatory compliance relevant to media or service industries.
- Attention to detail, accuracy in numerical work, and strong organisational and time management skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., CA Inter, CMA Inter) is an advantage.
- Prior experience as an Accountant or in a similar finance role; experience in media, broadcasting, or digital platforms is a plus.
- Ability to work on-site in Bhubaneswar, maintain confidentiality of financial information, and uphold ethical and professional standards.
