Job Description of Production Engineer
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Steel Heavy Structure Production Engineer to oversee and manage the production processes of steel structures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, particularly in steel fabrication and structural engineering, with hands-on experience in managing production workflows and ensuring quality and safety standards are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Production Management:
- Oversee the production process of heavy steel structures from start to finish.
- Develop and implement production schedules to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Coordinate with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure availability of materials.
- Design and Engineering:
- Review and interpret engineering drawings and specifications to guide the production process.
- Quality Assurance:
- Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure products meet industry standards and client specifications.
- Address and resolve any quality issues or non-conformances.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure that all production activities adhere to safety regulations and company policies.
- Promote a culture of safety within the production team.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead, train, and mentor production staff to ensure high performance and skill development.
- Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Manage workforce allocation and performance evaluations.
- Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of production activities, including progress reports, material usage, and quality control results.
- Prepare and present production reports to management as required format.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in steel structure fabrication and production management.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and quality standards relevant to steel production.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and leadership abilities.
- Familiarity with production management software and tools is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Previous experience in a similar role within the manufacturing and heavy steel structure industry.
- Must be knowledge of MS word and MS excel.
