Job Description:
Shafeltech is hiring an experienced Lathe Machine Operator (Non-CNC) to handle precision machining jobs on conventional/manual lathe machines. The role requires strong hands-on skills in turning operations and the ability to produce accurate components as per engineering drawings
Key Responsibilities:
· Operate manual/conventional lathe machines for precision turning operations.
· Read and interpret engineering drawings, job sheets, and measurements.
· Perform operations such as facing, turning, threading, and taper turning, boring, drilling, grooving, chamfering, and parting.
· Maintain tight tolerances and dimensional accuracy in finished parts.
· Select and set cutting tools, tool holders, chucks, fixtures, and feeds/speeds.
· Inspect components using vernier calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, dial gauges, etc.
· Perform basic machine maintenance, lubrication, and tool sharpening.
· Maintain production records and job cards.
· Follow all safety practices and maintain a clean workspace.
Skills & Qualifications:
· ITI / Diploma in Turner / Machinist / Mechanical or equivalent.
· 4 – 10 years of experience in manual lathe machining (Non-CNC).
· Strong understanding of precision machining and measurement instruments.
· Ability to produce consistent quality output with minimal supervision.
· Knowledge of different materials (MS, SS, Brass, Aluminium, etc.) and machining behavior.
